I had been wanting to draw Mimikyu for a while back, and someone also had the same idea

Made on November 13, 2024. This piece was for someone who had commented on my TikTok of the piece "Stoplight" that I had posted. They had suggested for the Pokémon Mimikyu to be drawn.
I do not make promises, or try not to. It never works out for me when I do. Nonetheless, after sitting on the thought, it would be nice to see if I can make a similar background feel as to the one "Stoplight" had.
It caught a lot of folk's eye, so I wanted to try again.

I wanted to capture the feel of a clear night sky. Now I do not feel like I succeeded. It turned out nice, but did not capture the feel of what I was going for. In the Speedpaint you can see I had wanted to put in a Moon. But it just looked out of place each time I kept trying. Soon, I took it off.
I mean when I was little, I had always thought the Moon was invisible when it was a New Moon.
One day when I was out with my family, visiting other family members. I was filled with awe and amazement when I first saw it. The dark sphere, void of stars, and just a light glow lining around the Moon. I stared at it as long as I could. I think I was 8 at the time. Me and my family had to get going back home.
Mimikyu and the Cutieflies were quite fun to draw. Especially when I started with the lighting. I used the Vivid Light filter on the layers for it, and that bright red and yellow color was what I was looking for.

In conclusion, I enjoyed how this piece turned out. I quite like drawing with no line art. I will certainly be trying it out more.
